XTU will not install - Error code 0x80070643

I had XTU installed on my system previously. Then I had an update at the top of the screen telling me to update to the newest version. I tried that and the update failed. It would not open again and I did a full uninstall. (removed all the Intel folders in Program data and files as well as uninstalling the file.)

I am trying to install the newest version 7.14.2.14 and the below screen keeps happening and then the error message.

I am running this program as Administrator.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, and I know you do not want to hear this, but a fresh install of the OS may be needed.  You might be able to get away with a windows reset.  Which ever you do, follow up with an install of the chipset inf.

Okay, after replacing the CPU and reformatting the PC, everything seems to be running fine. XTU was able to be installed and everything seems good.

However, I need some assistance or reassurance.

My CPU hits 100 degrees Celsius during some games, not all.

Space Marine 2 is pretty much always at 100 degrees.

1. I play in 4k.
2. Every settings is maxed.
3. I set XTU to adjust my voltage down to 57 from 59.
4. Do you think I need to reseat my Heatsink?
Heatsink: CORSAIR iCUE LINK H150i LCD RGB 360mm Liquid Cooler

Is this normal? There unfortunately, not many guides or tips for the 14900ks that I can review, but everything that I find says that while gaming or under heavy load, 90 degrees Celsius is perfectly normal and even hitting 100 is within expectations, even with a 360mm Liquid Cooler, but this worries me as so many guides say that running above 90 Degrees is REALLY harmful for the CPU.

Can I have any assurances or something to set my mind as ease that this is normal?

What did you replace  the CPU with?

I would guess that the cooler's thermal paste is not applided correctly, or the cooler is not installed correctly.

I do not know XTU settings and what "every setting is maxed" means, so someone else will have tp help.

Every setting is maxed for game settings. (meaning everything is set to Ultra or highest in any game that I play)

Every guide I have read for the 14900ks says that these temperatures are normal.

Wyllow_0-1725909893384.png

"Additionally, the i9-14900KS's substantial heat output necessitates advanced cooling strategies, with a 360mm AIO water cooler being the minimum recommendation. Even with such cooling, temperatures can reach up to 100°C under heavy workloads, which is expected given the processor's design"

Unfortunately, there really aren't many resources for the 14900ks CPU to use, so these are what I am going by, which mimics my situation.

So, we do not know if the problem was the CPU or the OS reinstall?

The initial issue was 100% the CPU with the voltage issue from the 13th-14th generation CPU issues Intel as reported. I had it RMA'd and the new one installed. Then, I learned that I had a OS Corruption that the reformat fixed.

It was 2 separate issues that appear to be resolved now.

This new "issue" (may not be an issue) is just the heat on the CPU and I want to be sure it's not a problem and is normal.
