i5 13600KF max.core clock

Hi,

Sorry for my curiosity.

I have a question about the max. turbo frequency of the i5 13600 kf. In the specifications of the processor it says that 5.1 GHz is the Maximum Turbo Frequency. In the HWiNFO64 application during the max. load of the processor I have a reading of 5.089 Mhz. Is this normal?
Can you explain to me why the frequency is slightly lower than declared?

Best regards

Yes, you are looking at a likely round-up error.  Do you really miss that .011 ghz?

Hi,
No, I don't miss that 0.11ghz, I'm just looking for your explanation. I'd miss it if I see on one of the identical processors that it works at 5.1ghz.
Why wouldn't a round-up error happen, for example showed 5.111ghz?

Best regards

Hello ghibly7,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I understand that you would to know why your CPU does not reach the maximum "Max Turbo Frequency".

In this case, the frequency shown in ark.intel.com for your processor was documented as the maximum that the CPU can reach under a control scenario. Bear in mind that the speed reached is controlled by the operating system.

The operating system will choose which core to use, the moment to increase the speed, the speed needed to perform the task, and how long it will last. If the CPU is not reaching 5.10GHz is because the operating system does not think is needed to perform the task.

You can find more information related to Turbo Boost in the following link:
