i7-12700H Max Turbo Problems

Hi,
My victus model computer has an i7-12700H processor, but the processor speed never increases to 4.7 Ghz. As if it is fixed at 4.1 Ghz in balanced mode. I've done all the tests. But my processor speed always stays at 4.1 Ghz. Benchmark,I completed the stress tests correctly in the notebook. According to my research, F.After 11 BIOS updates, this problem has occurred in everyone. When will the update come for fixes, or could the source of the problem be something else? I am waiting for your support.

I am sharing an image with you to explain my problem more clearly.

CPU Max. Turbo: 4.1Ghz

i7-12700H Max Turbo speed needs to be 4.7Ghz.
My operating system and all software versions are up to date.

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I am sorry to hear that the processor is not working as you expected. 

 

Please take in mind that many other factors (system, workload, etc.) can come into play in order to reach higher clock speeds. 

 

However, Intel Turbo Boost Technology enhances clock speed dynamically to deal with heavy workloads. It works without requiring any installation or configuration by the user. The technology judges the amount of heat the system can tolerate, as well as the number of cores in use, and then boosts clock speed to the maximum safe level.  

 

Along with the previous information, even though the processor can reach a max turbo frequency of 4.7 GHz, that doesn't mean that it will reach the maximum, since it depends on the workload and system capacities that are beyond the processor specifications, not to mention that Intel turbo boost technology will keep the system safe maintaining a safe max frequency. Hello,

The processor values ​​on my two different computers are as in the image. Why is the i7-12700h also watching 4.7GHZ but the i9-12900H also shows the true value of 5.0GHZ speed.

As previously mentioned in the last post, the clock speed will depend on the system configuration capacities and workload. Please check how the Clock speed works to understand that there is no point to compare processors and this will depend on so many factors. 

 

Also, please take in mind that third-party tools might not be accurate in their results, we recommend you to monitor the system with an Intel validated tool called Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU)

Hi,

I was researching those who study past time periods. The problem is completely related to the hp bios update. There is no problem with the processor max speed in the bios version f.06, but this problem occurs in bios versions above f.06.

Then, you need to be discussing this with HP.  It is their bios.

No, the problem is not solved. I delivered the device to the hp technical unit and got a DOA report. I returned the computer.
