Hi
We use Active Serial programming using a ByteBlaster-II cable - this programs a chain containing an EPCS4 and a Cyclone. Is it possible to use this for debug or must a JTAG cable be used? [edit] I guess this document has the answer - we have to do both? http://www.altera.com/literature/hb/cfg/cf...cfg_cf52009.pdf (http://www.altera.com/literature/hb/cfg/cfg_cf52009.pdf)Link Copied

Hi Jason,
> Is it possible to use this for debug or must a JTAG cable be used? You must use the JTAG for debug. ASMI is just for programming the config device. > [edit] I guess this document has the answer - we have to do both? You can program the epcs via the JTAG ... but you'll need to create a flash programming configuration. Regards, --Scott
