Debug using Active Serial

Hi

We use Active Serial programming using a ByteBlaster-II cable - this programs a chain containing an EPCS4 and a Cyclone.

Is it possible to use this for debug or must a JTAG cable be used?

[edit] I guess this document has the answer - we have to do both?

Hi Jason,

You must use the JTAG for debug. ASMI is just for programming the

config device.

You can program the epcs via the JTAG ... but you'll need to create

a flash programming configuration.
