Gentlemen,
I have generated a simple custom Qsys NIOS processor. It generated with just a couple of warnings. I then instantiated it into a Quartus project and it compiled fine. I next went to test it using the Altera Monitor Program(AMP), but that will not work without a .ptf file, which is no longer generated with Qsys. Is there a way to use the AMP with Qsys generated systems? If not, is there an alternative to the AMP for testing? Should I go back to using SOPC Builder? Thank you for any assistance, Regards, GeofLink Copied

In short, "yes". From: www dot altera dot com slash education slash univ slash software slash monitor slash unv-monitor dot html
(I can't post links yet) QUOTE: The Altera Monitor Program does not support systems developed using the new Quartus II system generation tool, Qsys. Please continue to use the SOPC Builder software to generate systems for using with the Altera Monitor Program.- Mark as New

Thank you, kebmsmith. I missed that one completely. I will go back to SOPC Builder for testing.
