I installed Quartus 5.0 & IDE 5.0 on a Win2k machine and get a 'command not found' error when compiling a software project in IDE:
**** Incremental build of configuration Debug for project hello_world_0_syslib ****
make -s all
Creating generated_all.mk...
D:/FPGA/Altera/quartus50/bin/jre/bin/java.exe: not found
make: *** Error 1
I know that this problem was posted already. But I guess this is an installation problem on Win2k. One can find the java.exe executable where it is supposed to be. Looks like a string substitution problem in one of the many scripts. There was a similar problem with Quartus 4.x. The fix is described here: altera answer page (http://answers.altera.com/altera/resultdisplay.do?page=http%3a%2f%2fwww.altera.com%2fsupport%2fkdb%2f2004%2f10%2frd10012004_424.html&result=0&responseid=45b50f58f81c41c5%3a633e5e%3a10518987e13%3a-123&groupid=1&contextid=5555%3a1415.1566%2c1447.1566&clustername=defaultcluster&doctype=1000&excerpt=%24boot_copier_macro%29+%22+.+%22--boot%3d%5c%24%28sh....#goto1415) I'm wondering if this is a similar issue since IDE installations on XP work fine. I'd appreciate if someone from the IDE development team could have a look at this. -- Cheers
