LAN usage via nios

I am trying to send some data @4-10 Mbps from statrix II fpga to my PC. I am having nios II devlopment board with lan 91c111 on it. I am using alteras full feature design example in which i have added my own portions of the code to send data.i have modified the simple socket server example design accordingly(in the send() function). the interface between quartus and nios is done using pios.Although data is coming out on telnet but the speed is very slow. 

 

Plz figure out how to achieve rtos levels in nios system and to control its speed.
