Hi,
in recent NIOS II IDE releases, Altera always included the same toolchain version. A look at the sources proves that there is absolutely nothing new. Except that niosii-gnutools-src-6.1 now has some source files included which were omitted in 6.0 (but which have been available in the binary distribution). In the gcc source, it appears that Jonah Graham contributed most of the work. But he wrote me in late December 2005 that he doesn't work on the NIOS II project at Altera anymore. So actually it seems that no one is improving the port anymore? I'd really like to use a 4.x gcc for RTEMS, even better would be a nios2 port included in the "official" gcc source tree. So a nios2-rtems-toolchain could be compiled from source without patching. This has to be a wish of the uClinux folks as well, because more and more programs are now mostly tested to work with gcc 4 and not 3?! KoljaLink Copied
