Unable to connect to the Development Board

Hi

I have a problem and I tried almost everything to fix it but nothing helped.

Here it is:

I have a Altera Cyclone Development Kit. When I try to connect the board to the PC, I always get the message " Unable to scan device chain. Hardware is not connected". I use Quartus II Programmer to connect to the Cyclone board. MasterBlaster is the cable type. The COM port on the PC is set to the same boad rate as the port setting on the Cyclone board (both at 9600). I also tried different Boadrate, but nothing.

I even re-installed the software twice and on a different computer and still nothing.

Does anybody knows what is going on???

Please Help. Thank you

M!

Hi M!,

Only a few things come to mind:

-Get the latest version of the Quartus programmer.

-Make sure your MasterBlaster is actually the selected hardware.

-Make sure you are connected to the JTAG, not the ASMI header.

-Check the JTAG connector ... if it's backwards, it won't work ;-)

I'm not sure I understand this.

Good Luck,
