Using USB to load files onto board

Hello all, 

 

I'm trying to use my Altera DE2 board in such a way that I can (by means of a usb flash memory stick) upload a file (probably a wav file) onto the flash memory of the board so it can be used in a later project. 

 

I'm having a hard time getting started because the usb tutorial provided is for a non-data related standard, and is for a usb mouse. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be much obliged.
