common memory for cpu and custom instr

hello everyone.. 

 

i want to use a memory where i can store data which has to be used  

both by CPU and my custom instruction which i am calling thru c-program 

can i do that.. 

 

can i access that memory thru UART independently without altering the c-prog. 

which has the custom instruction..
