Some ones had tried Redhat 9.0, but the make program has problem for buildroot.

Redhat linux distribution became Fedora Core many years ago. ( that's why redhat9.0 was the last one of redhat linux distro).

If you are familiar with redhat, you will feel at home with FC.

The latest FC is FC5. You can download the DVD iso.

I would recommand always use the latest software and tools. There are a lots of bug fix and updates.

You can use latest slackware or Ubuntu. But they do not have Chinese support.

I prefer slackware, it works with many other buildtools.

You can also try Mandriva or others.
