12600k speed optimizer and advanced tuning locked in XTU

Intel XTU say overclocking is disabled on my system but im a bit confused becuase this same system used to allow me to use XTU...

i have a 12600k on a Asrock Z690M-ITX/ax board..

one thing to note is that in the advanced options menue in XTU the overclocking thermal Velocity boost says disabled and will let me enable, however it just goes back to disabled when i hit apply.

the processor core ICC max does the same thing but all other options are grayed out.

Any suggestions?

Hello Slackj,

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities. We understand that you are having issues with the Intel® XTU settings.

For this issue try reinstalling the Intel® XTU:

Uninstall the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU).

Download and install the latest version of Intel® XTU available on the Download Center.

Also, in case the issue persists, and to better assist you, please provide me with the following:

  • Do you receive an error message? If so, share a screenshot of the error message.
  • Have you made a system change before the issue started?
  • Are you running the default BIOS settings?
  • Create a system report using Intel System Support Utility (Intel SSU)
    • Download the Intel SSU
    • Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel SSU will take you to the "Summary View."
    • Click on the menu where it says: "Summary" to change it to "Detailed View."
    • To save your scan: click on "Next"; then "Save."
