Hello team,

Pls help. Getting a PCI encryption/decryption controller driver error in Device Manager.

As a result of this I am :

1. Unable to update my Windows 10 beyond ver 1511

2. After downloading, during update process laptop gets stuck at "Restarting" and needs a hard reboot

3. Tried using ISO image from Microsoft website to install Win10 but again same issue with laptop unable to restart by itself

I have also tried "restore health", SFC/scannow, chkdisk etc and all came out succesfully

Pls help

So the Intel support engineers can have more information about your system, Download, run, and save the results of this utility as a text file:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility

Then ATTACH the text file using the instructions under the reply window ( Drag and drop here or browse files to attach ).

Sav120, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

In reference to your inquiry, the fact that you are getting the error message in "Device Manager" about PCI encryption/decryption controller driver and if the memory controller hub it is not detecting hardware components it indicates that there could be a problem with the Intel® Processor or the motherboard itself.

As an option, if the laptop boot to Windows*, we can try to run the Intel® Processor Diagnostics Tool, it does an overall test on the unit and if it passes the test it means that it is working properly:

If the computer does not boot to Windows*, then the best thing to do will be to get in contact directly with Acer to verify with them why there are Windows* installation issues and also if there is a hardware problem with the Intel® Procesor or with the motherboard, keep in mind that the Intel® Processor being used on this system is Mobile, so all the warranty support for this platform will be provided by Acer:
