BIOS Reset for Intel NUC

Hi, we have an Intel NUC D54250WYKH & we accidentally disabled all the USB ports when in the BIOS. When we restarted the NUC, our USB keyboard is no longer detected and we cannot get back into the BIOS or boot to the OS or external media/devices.

We tried the following to clear the BIOS:
1. removed the jumper pin
2. removed the battery
3. reinstalled the BIOS
4. installed an older BIOS

Unfortunately, none of the methods we tried have not worked.
Is there another way to clear/reset the BIOS so that we can access the Intel NUC once more? Is there manual way to short PINs on the motherboard or another program we can use to reset the BIOS?

Any info would be appreciated...

  1. Try to enter Power Button Menu: press Power Button for about 3 seconds. You should release the Power Button soon as the power led changes color from blue to amber.  Alternately, the system will emit three short beeps from the PC speaker or headphones, if connected, then stop. While you see the LED color change or you hear the beeps, release the Power Button - NUC shall reboot into Power Button Menu. You should release the Power Button before 4-sec shut down override.
  2. While you see the Power Button Menu, press F3 to disable the Fast Boot and press F2 to enter BIOS.

Move the jumper from pins 1-2 to pins 2-3 and then power on.

Thx for your reply. Unfortunately, we also tried the moving of the jumper pin to pins 2-3 and also with no jumper pins at all but that only stated that it has cleared the admin password. When the system reboots, we still cannot access any of the USB ports and thus cannot use F2 to access the BIOS.

Success!

Got it on the 3rd try but was able to use the Power Button method to access the BIOS by holding the power button for about 3 seconds and then hitting F3 and then F2.

I had a problem with my motherboard, and it was fixed.  I installed 2 drives (256 GB) and windows 10 pro.

It is running great but every time I boot it will not restart. I tried the method you mentioned with the power button- I entered the bios and tried to change it to boot from the drive but unfortunately, it doesn’t. What other steps should I do ? as for now – I use the method you mentioned to boot from the right drive

Hן @Vonderkid

This thread is solved and if I understand correctly your post, you have an other problem. The problem in this post was that the USB ports where disabled while you have problem with Windows that can not restart.

Please open a new thread of yours, describe your problem and I'll try to help.
