Regarding your inquiry, yes, Intel® processors do offer architectural extensions for several banks of registers. For additional information, you may check the Intel® 64 and IA-32 Architectures Software Developer Manuals available here: https://software.intel.com/content/www/us/en/develop/articles/intel-sdm.html (for starters Chapter 10-2 vol 1 per example).
