Genuine Intel XEON W-3275M?

I'm concerned that the W-3275M processor I recently bought from a dealer in Europe may not be genuine.  It was sold as new and unsed but failed a few weeks after being installed in my MacPro 7.1.  It was correctly installed with the correct quantity and type of heatsink comound.  The core remperature when running did not go above 85 deg C.

The FPO and ATPO check out on the warranty page which shows this is a genuine tray processor.  However, I wonder if this might be an ES chip which has had its identity cloned from a legitimate chip.  I have attached a high resolution scan of the area of the bottom of the chip with the FPO.  The FPO is the same as that printed on the lid. The reason for my doubt is that the FPO text is not gold, non-reflective and is very difficult to read.  To me, it looks like it might have been printed.  I have nothing to compare it with and would be grateful if anyone can help.

Hello Charger,

Greetings for the day!

The FPO and ATPO check out on the warranty page which shows this is a genuine tray processor, then it’s a genuine processor only.

Vijay,

Thanks for your assurance on this.  My problem is that it failed only a few weeks after installation.  It was installed correctly as per recommended practice with the correct type and amount of thermal paste.  Unfortunately, the third party supplier is unwilling to replace it under their warranty.  Although this is not Intel's responsibility and is not within the warranty terms, is there anyway Intel would be willing to consider a discretionary warranty claim? Alternatively, is it possible to pay for a replacement as this processor is discontinued and no longer available from authorised Intel dealers?

Many thanks
