Hi,
I just installed Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (Version 6.3.0.56) to monitor CPU utilisation and temperature on my PC (Surface Book, Intel Core i7 6600U).
Reading about this software online, I came across some horror stories about how this program may automatically change settings on your system. Given
(1) I have an Intel Core (i.e. compatible with the program) and
(2) I only accessed the "System Information" tab (to monitor CPU utilisation and temperature; haven't accessed any of the other tabs in the program),
Can I safely assume that no changes were made to my system (in terms of cache, clock settings, etc)?
Sorry for the stupid question, but thought it couldn't hurt to ask.
Thanks!
Edit: Just added a bit more information.

Hello JamesK-1,
Thank you for joining the Intel® community.
Regarding your question, the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU) will no make any changes in your system automatically, the tool needs to be manually configured in order changes settings in your computer.
Regards,
Amy C.
