Hello all, I would like to update my I3 with a I7, (for an aircraft simulation) but which model of I7 ?

My motherboard has a 1151 LGA Socket and kabylake chipset.

Can you help me?

Thanks.

You will need to consult with your motherboard/sustem manufacturer and ask them what processors are compatible with their bios.

Then you can select from those.

The easiest way of finding which i7s can be fitted is to look up the board manufacturers support site for your motherboard. There should be a CPU/Memory support section that will list all the compatible processors. Typically this will include some CPUs that will work with the original BIOS and others that will need a BIOS update. So to give the widest choice updating to the latest BIOS and drivers from the support site should be the first step. Bear in mind that updating the BIOS will over-write any customisations so if this is the case take a note of them and restore these settings after the update.
