Is my i7-7700k overheating?

Hey Intel community - 

I just upgraded my Intel i5-7400 for an i7-7700k...super excited about the additional processing power!  However...the cores seem to be running pretty hot.  I used HWMonitor and Cinebench to check out the temperatures and they are peaking at around 100-C!

My question is this: is this normal for this processor?  I've ready that the 7th gen i7's run hot.

(Additional info:  I bought the CPU used and I'm still using the stock CPU fan.  This was also my first time swapping out a CPU, so hoping I did it right.)

Do you know for certain that your motherboard bios supports the new processor?  how about the cooling system?

So the Intel support engineers can have more information about your system, Download, run, and save the results of this utility as a text file:

Then ATTACH the text file using the instructions under the reply window ( Drag and drop here or browse files to attach ).

Additional information.   Compare the two processors:

As you can see, the i7-7700K does no come with a cooling fan.  You must provide your own cooling solution.  Using the stock fan for your i5-7400 will be inadequate.

Also, just because the i7-7700K fits the socket, it does not mean it is supported by your motherboard bios.  You must verify if this processor is supported.  And, the bios should be updated to the latest.  Fan control is provided by your motherboard bios.

And, adequate ventilation is always a must.

Success!  I bought/installed a new fan cooling system and the temps have dropped at least 10 degrees when idle, and 20 at peak processing power.  Here's what I installed:
