Hey guys,
So i currently own a Prime z370-p motherboard with a i3-8100 i'm looking to upgrade to a i5-9600k processor and wondering if this will be alright or will i need a bios update?
if it helps i have BIOS Version - 0809 22/06/2018 version bios
I'm really a noob when it comes to upgrading pc's so be gentle.

According to the Asus web site, the i5-9600K *is* supported by your motherboard, but you need to upgrade to the latest BIOS (version 2401, available here: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/PRIME-Z370-P/HelpDesk_Download/) using your existing i3-8100 processor. Install the new BIOS, verify that you can boot and run on this new BIOS with your existing processor and then install the replacement processor.
