Processor Speeds

Hello everyone! I currently have an Intel i5 clocked in at 1.7GHz. I am looking at a computer clocked in at 2.6Ghz with a turbo boost up to 3.1GHz. Will there be a major difference? I do play Minecraft and Euro Truck Simulator 2 if you recognize those games. I just want to know if I will notice a difference in the speed of the computer. Also, I currently have an intel 4000 graphics card and the computer I am looking at has an Intel Iris graphics card. I simply want to know what type of difference I would get. Thank you! Also, if you want links to descriptions of my current computer and the one I am wanting, I can get those. Thanks again!

Overall performance will increase and mostly for some tasks such as converting video or audio files.

However, when you deal with games, the graphics controller is a main player too. Some games rely more on the GPU while others require more CPU.

I recommend checking the recommended system requirements for the games you are planning to play.

Ok. Thank you very much! One last question, what would be the difference between an i5 2.6GHz processor and a 3.0GHz i7 processor? Thanks again!

Do you have the exact models? You can search for the models and compare them here: http://ark.intel.com/ http://ark.intel.com/

I do not have the exact model of the processors themselves, but you may know. They are in the Mac mini's (which is the computer I am looking at currently). I can give you links to the processor page as it does not list the exact model. http://store.apple.com/us/buy-mac/mac-mini?product=MGEN2LL/A&step=config http://store.apple.com/us/buy-mac/mac-mini?product=MGEN2LL/A&step=config#

These are the Intel® processors that I was able to find matching the specifications given above: http://ark.intel.com/compare/83506,75991,83508 http://ark.intel.com/compare/83506,75991,83508

You may also double check with Apple*.
