Velocidade I7-12700H

I currently have a notebook with the i7-10510u processor and when using lightroom and photoshop for editing, at certain times, the programs start to freeze and take a long time to respond, resulting in a very bad delay. I've noticed that this happens when all 8 logical processors are in action, with CPU usage high, around 90% or more and the click speed drops a lot between 0.8 and 2 GHz.

I'm thinking about getting a new notebook with the i7-12700h processor and yes I know the difference is huge and that I won't face these problems but still I would like to know at what speed all 20 cores will run on demand in edits? Thanks in advance.

Hello jamesjaco,

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities.

It is important to mention that 12th Generation processors contain hybrid architecture, where you have two sets of processors (Performance-cores and Efficient-cores) both sets have a different Max Turbo Frequency for Efficient-cores it is 3.50 GHz, and for Performance-cores, it is 4.70 GHz. Max Turbo Frequency is the maximum single-core frequency at which the processor is capable of operating using Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, and it is the frequency a CPU targets when stressed by a demanding application.

If you would like to know more information about the Intel® Core™ i7-12700H Processor, you should take a look at the specification website.

I appreciate the information, but this is on the website.

Rephrasing my question....

I want to know the clock speed of all cores when the processor is under high load demand, at 100% usage?

Thank you very much in advance.

Hello jamesjaco,

Thanks for your response.

You should know that the Max Turbo Frequency is part of the performance you will see on your unit. You should know that it is hard for the cores to reach the Max Turbo Frequency, not all the cores will reach it, at least not at the same time. The Max Turbo Frequency will detect one or two cores, and these cores will be boosted when it is needed.

I believe I have not been understood correctly. I would like to know at 100% usage, what speeds can the i7-12700h maintain on all 6p+8E+20th cores?

It is incredibly difficult to determine this as the results will be different on practically every system and can even vary significantly on the same system, based upon current conditions and configuration.

You need to ask a more-practical question.
