Hi, I am getting some odd reports from the XTU utility.
No problems besides the impossible readings.
Is it a bug on XTU? or have been blessed by the CPU gods?
Please be the second.
Any insights?

Thank you for patiently waiting.
I would like to recommend you the below steps:
- Update your motherboard BIOS to the latest version, according to the Asus* website, the latest version available is the 2801 and you are currently using 2401. Please contact the motherboard manufacturer for guidance.
- Please, reinstall the XTU tool following these steps: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000032459/processors/processor-utilities-and-programs.html
- Test the tool again using the latest BIOS.
Please let us know the outcome.
Best regards,
Maria R.

Hi Maria,
Yes, I was able to upgrade the MB bios to 2801. After the upgrade, I was able to overclock to 5.3 Ghz. 0.2 more than before. I have not seen any spurious high readings; however, got a negative 3.7 once. Must have been a fluke. Still tweaking, I might be able to squeeze another 100 Mhz.
Thanks for the help,

Hi Maria,
Yes, I was able to repeat the minus 3.7 GHz reading. It occurs when the machine wakes from sleep. Is there something it can be done to fix it?
Thanks,

Hello gabe9,
Thank you for let us know.
We will proceed to check this internally, but first, can you please provide the below details?
- Are you having performance issues or crashes on the system?
- Provide a screenshot to verify how the device manager is detecting the frequency and also, the BIOS, please.
Best regards,
Maria R.
