Xeon E2136 is a renamed copy of i7-8700, can I run it on my motherboard msi Z370 tomahawk? On my second computer, xeon x3440 (renamed copy Core i7-860S) runs on a regular motherboard (Gigabyte GA-H55-S2H) without any BIOS modifications (validation => http://valid.x86.fr/zl7bii Intel Xeon X3440 @ 2666.05 MHz - CPU-Z VALIDATOR ). Some people say that Intel has blocked the launch of "server" CPU on regular motherboards at the BIOS level.
