Bonjour,

sorry, i'll translate it in english.(i typed it in french , thought i was on the french forum)

i am overclocking a little bit my I5 2500k on my asus P8z77-v mobo and i was asking myself if the temperature of 65°C that i shoudn't go higher according to my resaler is the cpu temperature as indicated in AI Suite 2 (59°C in prime 95 stress test) or the core temperature (70°C or higher in prime 95 stress test)

If it is the cpu temperature then i have no problem at all but it is related to the core temperature then i should stop my overclocking which is although not really high (4.0ghz)

thank you in advance for your answers,

Porson,

If I understand you, you are concerned about reported temperature of 65 C. If the temperature is regarding the CPU then you are happy, but if it is regarding the core system temperature then you are concerned. Is this correct?

Okay!

Where do you see the temperature reported? Can you possibly post a picture?

Porson,

I am interpreting "package" as Tcase. See this http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/design-guides/3rd-gen-core-lga1155-socket-guide.pdf document for detailed discussion. In this processor Tcase is 72.6 as you can see http://ark.intel.com/products/52210?wapkw=i5+2500k# infosectionpackagespecifications here.

I would consider that safe so far.
