So ive had my computer for a while and never thought of installing chipset intel serial 30.100.2417.30. I have a PRIME B660-PLUS D4 motherboard and am told that intel serial 30.100.2417.30 is the correct chipset driver for me. Altough each time i restart my pc it stops working and each time i boot up my pc i have to go in to the intelseriallinstallation and repair the driver. I dont know why this is if it is that i have the wrong driver or if it is something else. Can someone please help a dude out!

This is the Serial IO driver available from the ASUS support support site for this motherboard. If you have not already done installing the latest Intel chipset driver from the same source - 10.1.19913.8607 - and the latest Intel Management Engine (ME) Interface - 2428.6.2.0 - is recommended, in that order. Also recommended is the latest BIOS - 3602 - that includes the Intel microcode 0x12B. This BIOS will also update the ME firmware to the latest version -  16.1.32.2473v3. There is also a USB PD controller FW update that could be installed.

In short, I am saying just ensure you have all the latest driver and firmware updates for your board from ASUS. Another thing that could be looked at was that there was an issue with some ASUS B660 boards relating to the PCI Express Native Power Management setting in the BIOS. This can be found under Advanced Mode->Advanced ->Platform Misc Configuration->PCI Express Native Power Management and by default is set to Enabled. Try setting this to Disabled and see if that makes a difference.

The final option is that the Serial IO driver version 30.100.2417.30 will show up in the Control Panel under Programs and Features. See graphic below. You could try uninstalling it and see if that makes a difference to the operation of your PC.
