8K I2C eeprom in ufm on maxII

Can someone clarify please:

I want to create an 8K eeprom in UFM on a MAXII device with an I2C interface using the megafunction:

According to Altera:there are two sectors - each sector is 4096 bits (total 8192). There are 9 address bits (512 locations) and the data width is 16 bits. But according the to the info on the I2C interface in the megafunction documentation the I2C bus data width is 8 bits.

Also I2C usually is addressed with 7 bits so my questions is:

Is this a 10 bit I2C interface and...

How does one access the 16 bit wide eeprom data if the I2C interface is 8 bits. The megafunction seems to allow an 8K access in I2C
