AIIGX AES - Prog EKP => Error (209027): Verification failed for device number 1

I have an Arria II GX design. All is complete and the only thing I need to do is to program the AES non-volatile key in the FPGA. I have an Ethernet Blaster II that is configured correctly. I can program unencrypted SOF's ok via EBII/JTAG as well as via Usb-Blaster. I have generated my EKP file per AN-556 ("Design Security..."). When attempting to program, I get the above error message.

My QII v11.1 has full license. I'm not sure whether any special license has been installed on the development system - AN556 says "obtain license from Altera". Which feature in License Dialog should I look for?

I have attached a screen shot.

Thanks!

This issue has now been fixed. The solution is below. Once everything is working, it will look like the attached screenshot. Note that the 2nd programming attempt confirms good programming.

Set EthernetBlaster to 100 KHz.

Title

Error: Verification failed for device number <device number>

Description

You may get the "Error: Verification failed for device number <device number>" when trying to program a non-

voltatile encryption key if you have the "Show checksum without usercode" option unchecked.

Workaround / Fix

check "show checksum without usercode" in the options for the programmer.

To do this open the Quartus® II programmer then select Tools>Options>Programmer. You will now see the "Show

checksum without usercode" option that you will be able to check.
