Hi,
I have a project that utilizes the EPM7064STC44-5 chip, however, Intel has obsoleted this part. Do you know what part would be a good alternative to this chip that Intel supports and has the same speed (5ns)?

There is always the MicroChip/Atmel ATF1504 series part as well.
Still in active production, is a drop in replacement for the EPM7000S series parts 7032/7064/7128.
They even have a tool (POF2JED) that will convert an existing Altera .POF file into the Atmel .JED file to program their part.
I have dropped numerous ATF1504AS parts into existing EPM7064S based boards. Fully functional compatible in my experience.

I am aware the chip can be purchased through some sources and I think arrow still has some, however, if I am going to perform redevelopment, it makes sense to use a chip that is supported and will not be obsolete any time soon.

Well if you are looking for a replacement for a redesign, you have to be a lot more specific about your needs to get reasonable responses.
Do you need 5V I/O compatibility?
How many and what kind of I/O capability?
You say you need '5ns speed', but what do you really need?
What is your clocking frequency requirement? Is it really ~200MHz as 5ns would imply?
Does it need instant-on like the EPM7K series CPLD, or can it configure from an EEPROM during startup?
Probably a MAX series device (5 or 10) that should be around for quite a while is suitable for your needs.
But without more specific requirements on your part it is hard to give specific recommendations.

Understandable in regards to the development requirements. I am again, new to this, so I haven't established the design criteria yet, thus I am mostly just trying to find a chip that has comparable characteristics. It appears that the CPLD world has been replaced solely by FPGAs, but I wasn't sure and the difficulty of finding a development board that is still available online. Even the MAX V development board (DK-DEV-5M570ZN) is backordered at least from digikey and mouser. I am using the prop delay of 5ns as I know that the differential signals that I am going to be processing has a fast transition as it is reading and processing signals from a very dense glass encoder wheel. I think you are probably correct with the MAX V being a good solution if I can get my hands on a development board. I was also considering looking into a lattice or Xilinx device.
For comparison, I have added the basic information for both devices. There are different MAX V devices. This one is no longer available, but has a prop delay of 6.2ns, which is the closest I can get to the original device specs that I can find so far. I also understand I will have to change the voltage levels as well, but at the moment I am not worried about that as much. If there is someone that has a different chipset that would work, I would really apricate the help.

That is a great idea! I will look into that. Thank you so much for suggesting the ATF1504. I may still run into timing issues and part availability simply due to the current times with the chip shortage, but that sounds like good replacement and a good place to start.

I am sorry, from intel part number, there is no drop in replacement available now. If you want to upgrade your design, you can use MAX V or MAX 10 as a design upgrade.
