Custom Board Design Companies

Hi,

for the development of a new product we would need a custom board derived from the Altera Cyclone III FPGA Development Kit. Could someone please point me to companies in Europe that can do such boards (design, production, development environment integration)?

Thanks!

Many companies can make a such board.

What do you exactly need? How many per year?

Hi,

basically what we would need is a board quite similar to the Cyclone III Board with just a few minor modifications (e.g. remove one of the HSMC ports, no need for displays, maybe some ADCs). What would be nice would be the possibility to have the same board design for two different Cyclone III devices (like the EP3C120F780 for bigger FPGA designs and EP3C25F324 for smaller designs).

I would expect no more than 10 pieces per year currently.

Thanks!

Best Regards,

Manfred

PS: In the meantime I found on the Altera web-page (/des-services/sgl-services.html) a table which provides a list of some companies I could start with

I'm not sure, if you realy realize than any custom board design is much more than "few minor modification". I mean development of such bpard cost maybe 10-15000$/€ (in Europa). If you have only 10 pieces a year, the costs maybe 1000$ per piece.

Much easier way is the extension board to NEEK Board, DE0/1/2 or something similar. So you need to find someone, who can make it this way, but the "bigger" companies are unfurtunally not very interessted in such smaller quantities :-(

Hi,

I certainly realize that creating custom boards is expensive. However, what is important is to have reliable supply over at least 5 years. The problem with using evaluation boards is that it is unknown when they will be discontinued.

Look at Tigris Elektronik GmbH (Germany, Berlin), they spezialized on small quantities of such a boards.
