Design Compiler synthesis FBGA484 vs PQFP240

Hello, I recently migrated a design from a Cyclone II package 484pin FBGA into a 240 pin PQFP. My question is, the compile times are very different. The Design compiler synthesis tool for the FBGA would take on average about 23 minutes, and the same design targetting the 240pin QPFP takes close to 1.5 hours. It is a decent sized design (~11,000 Logic elements), & my cpu has a decent amount of cpu punch. I have tried all the tricks to make compile times faster, but can't get it to work any faster. Is this normal? Is there anything else I can try to make design compiler speed up? any suggestions are very much appreciated.

I'd say it is normal, since place & route on pqfp part is probably much harder. It also depends on how many LEs are used.
