Difference between alt_ic_isr_register and alt_irq_register

Hallo, 

 

could somebody explain me what's the difference between alt_ic_isr_register() and alt_irq_register(). I didn't find some explanation on the internet. 

 

Is there some documentation, where the usage of this functions is described?
