Flash corrupt after power cycle (EPCQ32A)

Hi,

We encounter a problem with the following flash: EPCQ32A.
We have several design with this flash, however we now face an issue where the flash gets corrupted after a few power cycles. This happens on the batch from 2115, but if we switch the flash for the batch of 1825, the problem is not there anymore.

The corruption consist of just individual bytes/bits scattered around in the flash which get corrupted.
Is this a known problem? Or is there an idea on what could be causing this?

Kind regards,
Niels Kool

Hi,

Can you check the power integrity of the board and check if all the supplies are within range specified in the datasheet?

Hi thanks for the reply,

On two complete independent board designs we see the same behaviour for the same flash batch.
On both boards both teams checked the power and are concluded to be within spec.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. If you think the issue is related to a certain batch of devices, then request you to take help of local FAE in doing the Failure Analysis. They can also raise an Intel Premier Support on your behalf for further debug request at Intel.
