How to load FPGA from sd card without MAX_LED on?

Hi,

I am trying to load the FPGA using the SD card with Altera Linux.

When I set the MSEL bits to 00000, the FPGA loads from the PGM on power on, but then Linux attempts to load the FPGA image from the SD card and returns a -4. This happens during U-boot. Because there is something funny going on with the MSEL bit, this results in no FPGA image loading.

When I set the MSEL bits to 01000, the FPGA fails to load from the PGM, resulting in a the RED MAX_ERR led lighting up. However, 10 seconds later, altera linux u-boot loads the FPGA image from the sd card and to me it looks like everything worked correctly. But the MAX_ERR led is still on.

I would like to load the FPGA image from the SD card without the RED led from MAX_ERR. Has anyone found a way around this? Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks for any help,

John
