How to make applications run on nios2linux

Hi , 

How to make applications run on nios2linux by comman mount or ftpd. 

because the kernel is romfs, I can't mount linux host and windows xp. I can't send files to filesystem by ftpd either. 

Does somebody want to give a hand?
