Hi,

I am currently working on a Cyclone V :5CEFA4U19C7. It has a Nios II processor in it. I want to know if i will be able to do a soft reset for that processor. If so , kindly guide me through the procedure.

Thanks,

Sid

What exactly do you want is a hardware output which triggers the physical reset input signal, or simply return to the main() routine ?

There is advantages and drawbacks on each approach, therefore you should assess which one meet your need.

Anyway, Nios2 already provide an API for that: https://www.altera.com/support/support-resources/knowledge-base/solutions/rd05062005_584.html
