Hi,
I am trying to install the NiosII IDE 8.0 on my PC, but after extracting the install files, while starting the setup, an error occurs. Error Code: -5004 : 0x80041f42 Error Information: *C:\Programme\Gemeinsame Dateien\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime\11\50\Intel32\iKernel.dll >inc\CoCreate.cpp (44) >SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp (1405) pAPP:Nios II Embedded Design Suite PVENDOR:Altera Corporation PGUID:fe92770e-1ead-4004-8aa8-d36866d94394 $11.50.0.42618 @Windows XP Service Pack 3 (2600) BT_OTHER 67.0 I tried to reload the setup, because I thought the file is maybe corrupt, but this does not solve the problem. I orderer a CD from Altera and tried again, but the same message occured. Quartus II and Modilsim are installed already. I think the Problem is Windows XP Service Pack 3, but I'm not sure about it. Has somebody an idea about it? Google did not help me until now. kloockiLink Copied

SOPC Builder won't work if you install the packages in a directory say "Program Files" which has spaces in its name.

No, I've no spaces in any path. My install path is:
D:\Altera\81 I still got the problem. But XP Service pack 3 can't be the reason, because I tested the installation on a virtual machine running XP SP3. It must be a problem with the installshield, I think. Some people at work, also have this problem. :-(
