Hello.

Anybody knows if it is possible to program EPC1441 with usb blaster anyway?.

Depending on different datasheets it seems it´s possible using .sof in passive serial mode. But in other datasheet EPC1441 doesn´t appear like supported by usb blaster.

thanks and regards

According to the Altera Configuration Handbook, EPC1441 does not support ISP (in system programming) and is not reprogrammable. There should be also a datasheet available at www.altera.com

Thanks a lot for your help.

In actual datasheets EPC1441 doesn´t appear because EPC1441 is not supported by altera for new designs.

My doubt is because in previous datasheets appear:

device support

The USB-Blaster download cable allows you to program and configure

Altera® devices. Specifically, you can do the following:

■ Download configuration data to FPGA devices:

● Stratix® II, Stratix GX, and Stratix family of devices

● Cyclone™ II and Cyclone family of devices

● APEX™ II and APEX 20K family of devices

● ACEX® 1K devices

● Mercury™ devices

● FLEX™ 10K, FLEX 10KE, and FLEX 10KA family of devices

● Excalibur™ devices

■ Download configuration data to User Flash Memory (UFM) devices:

● MAX® II family of devices

■ Download configuration data to EEPROM-based devices:

● MAX 3000 and MAX 7000 family of devices

■ Perform in-system programming of advanced configuration devices:

● EPC2, EPC4, EPC8, EPC16, and EPC1441 devices

■ Perform in-system programming of serial configuration devices:

● EPCS1, EPCS4, EPCS16, and EPCS64 devices

This datasheet is available here, for example:

http://www.datasheetarchive.com/pdf/datasheet-050/dsa001175.pdf

best regards

Iñigo

Seriously, you can't expect to find the answer in the USB-Blaster datasheet (although the latter shouldn't contain misleading information, which is apparently the case).

As I said, there is a datasheet valid for EPC1441, as stated in the Configuration Manual. See http://www.altera.com/literature/hb/cfg/cfg_cf52004.pdf. It only mentions Altera Programming Unit (APU) with respective adapters and third party programmer to program the device. In any case, it's one-time-programmable only.

bolitary (http://www.alteraforum.com/forum/member.php?u=27618) , have you found the answer? The datasheet is written so, that it is not easy to figure out how to program that epc1441. I am having the same problem as you had a month ago...
