Hi everyone,
there is white paper "Overcome Copper Limits with Optical Interfaces" (WP-01161-1.1). It was published in April 2011. It's about Altera's plans to incorporate optical interfaces inside FPFA. Since April 2011 there are no more news about this extremly prospective feature. What is target date of manufacturing of such FPGA ?Link Copied

i heard there was a prototype that they were showing at some seminars, though since Stratix V isn't yet in full production i agree this may be a ways out
its probably best to look at a Stratix V GX or GT and external optical for now- Mark as New
