Purchasing IP license for Intel JESD204B IP core

I have a Cyclone 10 GX based design and am using the Intel JESD204B IP core version 19.2.1 from Quartus version 22.3.

The core requires the user to purchase a license for full/permanent use. Some distributors sell a license for Intel called "IP-JESD204B" but I want to be sure that this license is the exact license that will enable the JESD204B IP core in my design.
The distributor documentation doesn't define which FPGA families, Quartus versions, IP core versions, etc. that the license applies to. Additionally, the IP-JESD204B license is non-cancellable, non-refundable, so if it's the wrong license we're out $20k.

Is this IP-JESD204B the correct license for our application?

Regarding to your question, I might not be able to direct if the license is the correct one or which license you require without looking at the project.

However I can suggest to you to apply an Intel 90-Day Evaluation License use with Quartus Pro/Standard (Free licensing trial).

Login to Intel® FPGA Self Service Licensing Center and request the Quartus evaluation free license here: https://licensing.intel.com/    

1) Go to Sign up for Evaluation or Free licenses

2) Select Intel® FPGA EVALUATION-LIC

3) # of Seats is always 1

4) Check the T&C box

5) Add the required options

6) Click Get License button

Once you run your project compilation, Quartus will automatically create a assembler report, .asm.rpt file. 

( The assembler report is located in <Project directory>/Output_files/<project_name>.asm.rpt.)

In this report will show which IP license that you do not have.

Thanks for the response.
I went through the process you described above, generated the trial license and loaded it into Quartus, however, the JESD204B license is not included in the trial license.

Note that I can build a temporary design and use the generated programming file with JESD204B IP in Evaluation Mode. In this mode, the config file and IP is functional for 1 hour and requires the JTAG cable to be connected to the hardware. 

I am still not confident that the IP license sold by distributors is the correct one for my application, device, Quartus version, IP version, etc.

Did you manage to generate the Assembler report?

From the report you can see similar view as below to see which is license or unlicensed:

Based on the JESD204B Intel® FPGA IP User guide under chapter 2.1 Release information, you can see the ordering code for this IP is "IP-JESD204B". You may share the assembler report and User Guide to double confirm with your distributor.

While the various IP license names are not totally aligned, I now have enough confidence that the license sold by the distributor is the correct one.

• The assembler report shows that I need license “JESD204B”
• The User Guide section 2.1 shows “IP-JESD204B”
• The distributor sells “IP-JESD204B”
