Question about SerialLite II

Hi,

I'm now studying the Reference Manual of Seriallite II Protocol, and I have one question about its fields in the training sequence.

I know from the spec that Seriallite II can support up to 16 lanes, but in the manual, as it mentions "Training Sequence One Ordered Set Sequence {|TS1|}", it indicates that the field "LN" which represents the lane number and "MLN" which represent the maximum lane number in this sequence, has a range from 0 to 255.

So here is my question, how can the lane number and maximum lane number in the field of the sequence has a range from 0 to 255, but instead Seriallite II can only support 16 lanes? What exactly does these fields "LN" and "MLN" mean?

The reference manual I'm studying right now is "SerialLite II Protocol

Reference Manual", and the fields "LN", "MLN" in training sequence I mentioned is in page.26.Can anyone explain for me?

Thanks in advance ~
