Questions on NIOS

Hi,

To establish ping between the FPGA with NIOS and a host pc, Is an operating system (OS) required to be running in NIOS?

Type of core used: NIOS II gen2 fast core.

In the simple socket server example:

You can see in the section "1.5.5. Interacting with the Nios II Simple Socket Server" how you can make the connection with the OS.
