Signal Tap killing Compile

I instered a .stp file in my design and now whenever I compile the design I get the following error:

Error: datain port of HSDI receiver atom "rx_0" must be fed by input pin that does not feed any other logic

I don't have a signal named rx_0

The board is a PCIe Stratixx II GX development board which isn't made anymore.

I am trying to look at the data coming in on certain lines and I keep getting this error

any ideas what might be causing this? A million thanks!

sounds like you are trying to STP a GX SERDES input line, which isn't possible
