Hello,
I am board designer, currently developing a custom board, with a Stratix-II FPGA.
P\N: EP2S130F1508C4
I want to work with an AS configuration scheme and flash device.
1. Is is possible to program the AS flash via JTAG?
2. If so, what is the correct scheme?
3. If the only way to program the AS flash is through the programming cable directly, what is the correct way to connect the PGM pins and RUnLU pin?
4. What is the meaning of "remote update" when working in AS mode?
Regards,
Tal

Hi,
You may refer to the Stratix ii handbook for more information regarding configuration scheme, pin guidelines, remote update..
https://cdrdv2-public.intel.com/654261/stratix2_handbook.pdf
If you're using AS configuration, you will be limited to remote updates, meaning the FPGA's configuration must come from an external source, typically managed remotely or from a remote control system this is because in the Active Serial configuration mode, the FPGA’s configuration is typically loaded from an external device (like a serial Flash memory).
Regards,
Aiman
