--- Quote Start --- Maybe someone can explain me where is a mistake? --- Quote End --- Perhaps you are using an old version of Quartus that does not recognize the MAX II device? What version are you using? Create a new project and see if you can select the MAX II device as the target. What kind of JTAG cable are you using? USB-Blaster or parallel port ByteBlaster? Have you tried another cable? Cheers, Dave

Thanks for answer!
I use a Quartus 11.0 version & USB byte blaster! I don't have any problems in choosing a device family when I compile a project at all, but when I try to programm a target in a "programmer window", I have this: "Error: Can't recognize silicon ID for device 1"! But when I push "auto detect" buttom in a "programmer window" the software detect the target right! The target has a mono-power 3.3V on both banks & core! Best Regards, Roman.- Mark as New

Can you post the JTAG ID, and then look at the MAX II handbook and see if that ID is correct. Is this a custom board, or a standard board? Do you have another board you can check? I suspect you have a JTAG chain issue. Signal integrity perhaps? Do you have an oscilloscope you can use to look at the signals on the pins? Cheers, Dave
