I am designing a pcb board for the ep25c35f fpga and I am using the schematics for the altera DE2 board as a reference. I wan to design the USB blaster to only use the JTAG programming, I dont need the AS programming option. I know I dont need the EPSC16 serial configuration device, so my question is if someone can kinda shed some light on what I need to keep or remove from the schematic and also what to do about the programming for the EEPROM. If anyone can suggest an simpler way that would be very helpful. One last question as to what I do with all the unused FPGA pins I am not using .i.e what do I do with the VGA pins If I dont plan on using the VGA controller on my board.
Any help will be greatly appreciated Thank you链接已复制
Hi,
1) I have nothing which can help you : You need a epcs (or equivalent) to program your Cyclone device (because this FPGA is a SRAM programming). 2) For unused pin, they should be "Input tristated" (I think it is the best choice) ++Thank you very much for the fast reply I really appreciate it :), Thank you. I am making a scaled down version of the altera DE2 board so for the unused pins I was asking as to what to do with them physically on a pcb. I am not planning to use the LCD display on my scaled down version so is it logical to physically tie the unused pins; that were designed to work with the LCD display; to ground plane on the pcb. I worked on a development board with a stratix ep1s25f780c5 on it and it used byte blaster for programming the fpga. I am sure the two are very different but I just want to make sure if a similar method was a possibility or not.
I found this link..hope it helps someone with the same issue http://www.altera.com/literature/hb/cyc2/cyc2_cii5v1_06.pdf
