Using Octal SPI to transfer data between two FPGA chips

I know that Octal SPI is used for flash expansion, but I want to use it for high-speed data transmission between two FPGA chips.
I feel it is theoretically possible, but I lack relevant experience and reference.
Please help me.

With FPGA, everything is possible. What does "high-speed" mean for you?
