I need a programmer so I might as well buy the byte blaster II download cable rather than byte blaster I download cable. I have already found the user guide of this latest device. However, on my search I have found Byte Blaster I cable on sale but not Byte Blaster II. This is especially true for the Altera Website. I do realize that the Byte Blaster II has been on board the latest development boards and the cable was released later. However, since the Byte Blaster II download cable user guide is a bit old now, the device should be on sale by now.
Where can I get my hands on a USB Byte Blaster II cable?Link Copied

See the download cables (https://www.altera.com/products/boards_and_kits/download-cables.html) page for details of what's available.
Can I assume you mean a "USB Blaster II" cable? "ByteBlaster" refers to old (but still available) parallel port programming cables. I recommend you get a "USB Blaster" rather than wait for version II..... Cheers, Alex- Mark as New

Or the compatible ee blaster (http://entner-electronics.com/tl/index.php/eeblaster.html), which will probably be cheaper to get if you are in Europe.

If not mistaken, I heard that USB Blaster will no longer be selling. Thus you might want to consider getting USB Blaster II cable.
