Hello,
does anyone know, where I can buy Cyclone III EP3C25F324 C6N? Any supplier except Tencel and Altera? What does it mean speed grade 6, 7 and 8 exactly? I mean what I have to consider when I replace a grade 6 model with a grade 8 model? How trust able are China chips? They said always "original" and you can get them for the half price, but I will not believe it. At least they can deliver. Maybe give them a try? Someone experience with China chips? Thanks...Link Copied

@mxh5210: thanks for what? :-)
I found out speed grades from the datasheet in the meantime: 6- max. 500 MHz 7- max. 437.5 MHz 8- max. 402 MHz Tencell have these units in stock now, so the question has been solved by themselves. It was just misunderstanding during request of our sekretary. But during checking the availability from Altera FPGA's I found out that there are many chips with long delivery times. I have to consider this more in future designs.- Mark as New

Higher speed grades are slower components but they may be enough for your design. In your Quartus project you can chance the device to a C8 and recompile it. If it is properly constrained Timequest will tell you if the timing requirements are met by the slower component.
